Paris Jackson Wants $600 Million Transferred to Family Trust Shared With Her Brothers

Paris Jackson Seeks $600 Million From Her Late Father’s Estate for Herself and Her Brothers

Paris Jackson is asking for approximately $600 million to be released from the estate of her late father, music legend Michael Jackson, and transferred into a family trust established for her and her two brothers, Prince and Bigi.

According to court documents obtained by People, Paris argues that despite the estate generating billions of dollars since her father’s death, the Michael Jackson Family Trust has yet to receive its intended funding.

The trust was created to provide financial support for Michael Jackson’s children. Under the arrangements described in Paris’s court filing, the siblings were expected to begin receiving income distributions at age 21, with additional payments scheduled at 30, 35 and 40.

However, Paris, now 28, says those arrangements have not been carried out as expected. Instead, she and her brothers have reportedly received smaller payments determined by the estate’s remaining executor, John Branca.

Paris also pointed out that she will turn 29 in April, while her brother Prince is approaching his 30th birthday and their younger brother Bigi will turn 25 in February.

Paris Jackson Challenges the Estate Over Unpaid Trust Funds

In her legal petition, Paris emphasized that more than 17 years have passed since her father’s death, yet the family trust remains without its intended funding.

She has asked a judge to approve a partial distribution of the estate’s assets, arguing that its financial position makes such a transfer manageable.

To support her request, Paris referenced several major business transactions involving Michael Jackson’s estate.

Among them was the 2018 sale of its interest in EMI Music Publishing for $287.5 million, followed by the sale of Neverland Ranch in 2020 for approximately $22 million.

She also pointed to a 2023 agreement with Sony involving Michael Jackson’s music catalog and other intellectual property.

The estate has previously been valued at between $2 billion and $3 billion, according to reports.

Michael Jackson’s Estate Responds to Paris’s Request

The estate has pushed back against Paris’s claims, explaining that several unresolved legal matters have prevented it from fully funding the family trust.

One of the major issues involves an ongoing dispute with the Internal Revenue Service, which previously sought approximately $700 million in taxes and penalties.

In a statement to People, representatives of the estate explained that they had obtained a ruling that significantly reduced the amount in question. However, the matter remains unresolved and could still change.

The estate also rejected suggestions that Michael Jackson’s children had been denied financial support.

According to its response, more than $200 million has already been distributed for the benefit of the siblings.

It further maintained that Michael Jackson did not intend for his children to receive distributions from the trust until they reached their thirties.

What Happened to Michael Jackson’s Estate After His Death?

Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50. His death was ruled an accidental overdose involving the anesthetic propofol at a rented residence in Los Angeles.

Following his death, John Branca and John McClain were appointed co-executors of his estate.

Their responsibilities included managing his financial affairs, protecting his intellectual property and overseeing the business interests that continued generating revenue after his passing.

Michael Jackson leaves the Santa Barbara County Courthouse in 2005.

McClain died in May 2026, leaving Branca as the estate’s remaining executor.

The latest dispute involving Paris Jackson has brought renewed attention to the management of her father’s fortune and the future financial arrangements intended for his three children.
