A massive brawl at the Chicago White Sox game left fans perplexed as to how and why security could remain missing in action for a full two minutes, while also drawing comparisons to the Windy City’s insane teenage rioting just days earlier.
The huge fight, captured on video, occurred during the later innings of the White Sox contest against the visiting Baltimore Orioles. Allegedly, the incident erupted as presumably intoxicated fans engaged in the scuffle and escalated as more folks in the surrounding area jumped into the melee.
As BizPac Review wrote, the violent outburst was condemned to resolve on its own, as nary a security guard or stadium employee showed up for nearly two full minutes, and nearby fans were left to fend for themselves. BizPac Review reported:
As several people stepped in to try and breakup the fight, the fracas appeared only to escalate and the initial bout reignited after one of the women involved could be seen instigating while dancing with her middle fingers extended. However, when someone from several rows back could be seen throwing a bottle at her face, she immediately tried to get back in the fray.
While she remained on the periphery, a man could be seen taking potshots from several different directions and, after carrying on for close to two minutes, not a single official from the ballpark could be seen from the various angles attempting to dissuade combatants.
Eventually, a lone female staffer showed up, but being both of the fairer sex and alone, it seemed like she was hardly equipped to break up a tumultuous and violent encounter. Thankfully, the chaos died down on its own, though not before a full two minutes passed and countless fans in the area were molested by all-too-typical Chicago mayhem.
Take a look at the nonsense for yourself:
The Chicago stadium brawl was no different than the “Teen Takeover” of the city’s Loop earlier this week when countless young people with zero regard for morality and society trashed the downtown area. In that instance, police likewise refrained from engaging, no doubt fearful of being labeled racists again.
Instead, storefronts and cars were vandalized and two of the thugs got shot – though since they were shot by one of their own Democrats don’t care.
And that’s how you end up with mayor-elect Brandon Johnson placing more blame on other people for not creating constructive opportunities for the aimless young people rather than on the presumably fatherless, crime-disposed hoodlums from wreaking havoc on the city.
“In no way do I condone the destructive activity we saw in the Loop and lakefront this weekend,” Johnson said in a statement. “It is unacceptable and has no place in our city. However, it is not constructive to demonize youth who have otherwise been starved of opportunities in their own communities.”
Continuing on the theme of making what happened in the downtown Loop everyone else’s problem except for the people who actually committed the senseless violence, Johnson added that the city needed to devote more taxpayer spending to providing a more welcoming area.
“Our city must work together to create spaces for youth to gather safely and responsibly, under adult guidance and supervision, to ensure that every part of our city remains welcome for both residents and visitors. This is one aspect of my comprehensive approach to improve public safety and make Chicago livable for everyone,” he said.
As for the brawl, it comes at a time that Major League Baseball, concerned that faster games mean less alcohol sales, is considering lifting its 7th-inning ban and expanding sales to include the 8th inning as well. As always, it’s about profits instead of people.
Sure, there is personal responsibility involved, but if bars can enact last call and be required to not serve obvious drunks, then it stands to reason that stadiums likewise have an obligation to limit alcohol sales to ensure the majority of their fanbase isn’t disrupted – or harmed – by obnoxious ne’er-do-wells who revel only in debasement and debauchery.
