Emma Heming Willis and Bruce Willis met in 2007 and married in 2009. They share two daughters, Mabel and Evelyn
Bruce Willis and Emma Heming Willis are celebrating 16 years since they first began dating.
On Wednesday, Emma, 45, shared two photos on Instagram of herself with Bruce, 68, to mark their anniversary. “16 years with this special man. My love and adoration for him only grows,” she wrote the caption.
On her Instagram Story she posted the photos and wrote: “16 years together?! Lord where did the time go,” and “Smitten” against a snapshot of her kissing Bruce’s cheek.
The pair met in 2007, some three years after his split from Brooke Burns. He was previously married to Demi Moore, whom he and Emma remain close with, from 1987 to 2000. They made one of their first public appearances together at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2008, when Emma accompanied Bruce to the premiere of his film What Just Happened?
The couple married in a wedding ceremony held in Turks and Caicos on March 21, 2009; Emma celebrated their 14-year wedding anniversary with a series of Instagram posts earlier this year.
Bruce and Emma have spoken in the past about how they were taken with each other from their first meeting. “When we first met, I was surprised at how charming and how funny he was — and extremely handsome,” she once told PEOPLE during a conversation with Bruce. “That was my first thought of you.”
“I was already in love with her,” Bruce added at the time.
Emma revealed that Bruce was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia back in February, a little under one year after his family shared that the Hollywood icon was initially diagnosed with aphasia in March 2022.

Emma reflected on her time caring for Bruce since his diagnosis in her March wedding anniversary Instagram tribute, when she shared a photo of a bouquet of flowers a friend sent to the family’s home.
She wrote of the person’s “random act of kindness,” in a caption, writing that her friend’s flower delivery “inspired the heck out of me.”
