Teen Boys In Red And Black Tights Perform Optical Illusion Dance For Talent Show

When it came time for your school’s talent show, you would wrack your brain for something creative that you could do that would entertain your peers. Preferably, something that they hadn’t seen before. It was your time to shine.

Some kids had natural talents that made it easy for them to come up with an act, but others had to get more creative. These teenage boys in a performance as creative today as when it was filmed back in 2014, fell into the second category and the results are hilarious. See this clever optical illusion for yourself and see if you agree.

Men In Tights

Honestly, the idea of teenage boys in tights dancing is nothing new. Many brave young men have donned tights and tutus to entertain their peers in the past. But these boys tried something quite different. Each boy is wearing his own pair of black tights.

However, they also have a pair of red tights over the black ones on one leg only. Their friend also has one leg in the same pair so that they share a red pair of tights between them. The red tights are then held up by black suspenders, ensuring they stay in place throughout the performance. Although it may sound confusing (you will have to watch to fully understand), the results are mind-bending and create a fun optical illusion that everyone seems to fully enjoy.

The Introduction

The humor of the performance starts before the boys begin to dance and is likely unintentional. The teens scuttle on stage, shimmying side-to-side with their arms across one another’s shoulders. The auditorium erupts into laughter at the sight. As amusing as this is, it is only the beginning of the performance.

“Abracadabra” by The Steve Miller Band begins to play in the background and the boys start walking. Instantly, you find yourself questioning what you see. As they walk forward, it appears as if the boys are jumping around their friend’s legs. You really have to focus on what you are actually seeing to understand what is going on in the clip. However, don’t think about it too much or you may not enjoy this creative performance.

Are They Floating?

Next, the boys transition into synchronized hops and kicks. It appears that they are hanging off the shoulders of their friends. The fact that some of the legs don’t seem to cooperate as well as the other makes the illusion even more hilarious and entertaining. This move is then followed by a booty shake and squat motion that makes the legs look like each has its own mind and wiggles on its own accord.

This is followed by a swinging motion that makes the teens appear as though they are suspended on a swing between their friends and is followed by the grand finale. This final illusion makes every other boy appear as though he is floating mid-air. When they finish, the crowd erupts into cheers as they bow graciously then shimmy back off stage sideways.

A Creative and Entertaining Performance

If you are a fan of illusions or funny skits, this video is quite entertaining. You have to applaud their unique idea and ingenuity. It gives us all a good laugh. They are sure to have been a popular act with their classmates and parents. Be sure to spread this video to your friends so that they can witness this fun illusion too.
