Many high school students are multi-talented, but sometimes a pupil displays an unexpected gift that blows everyone away. Case in point: high school football player Sam Keith.
At just 15 years old the then-sophomore from Nashoba High School in Bolton, Massachusetts belted out an amazing version of “The Star-Spangled Banner” before a match in 2015 to a crowd that fell hushed at his tones.
Sam Keith was much more than the average “jock.” His interests and talents extended off of the football field and into the musical theatre performance realm. This made him the obvious choice to sing the National Anthem at the school’s football games.
Sam was more than ready and able to bring the crowd to its feet with his outstanding rendition of the song. Sam had everyone in the stands and on the field applauding and calling out to him.
Sam has honed his talents on stage in school musicals, which included popular favorites such as Les Misérables, Oklahoma, Footloose, and more.
If his deliverance of the anthem wasn’t enough, Sam ended the song by lifting his helmet. All of his teammates followed suit in a show of team spirit.
The video posted to YouTube depicting Sam Keith’s performance went viral almost immediately. Viewers were in awe after seeing the video and hearing Sam’s stunning vibrato voice. Comment after comment poured in praising Sam’s vocal talent and performance. Even veterans from the United States Armed Services commented, saying that Sam had brought them to tears.
