Willie Nelson has a very relaxed opinion on death and dying, admitting he’s ‘not worried about’ at all.

Although the thought of no longer being alive scares many people, the ‘On the Road Again’ singer isn’t one of them.

The 91-year-old country music star candidly shared his thoughts about death following the release of his 76th solo studio album and 153rd overall.

Noting that he takes ‘pretty good care of myself’, Nelson said he’s in good shape both mentally and physically.

“I’m 91 plus, so, you know, I’m not worried about it,” he told Associated Press. “I don’t feel bad. I don’t hurt anywhere. I don’t have any reason to worry about dying.”

He added: “And I feel like I’m in pretty good shape physically. Mentally? That’s another story.”

The beloved musician celebrated his 91st birthday back in April, having previously revealed why he chooses to mark the occasion on two separate days instead of just one like the rest of us.

Back in 2018, he revealed on his SiriusXM radio show that he celebrates his birthday on both April 29 and April 30 because of how his birth was registered in 1933.

“I was born before midnight on the 29th, but it didn’t get registered in the county courthouse until the next day, the 30th,” he said.

“So it went out officially as the 30th. I just do both days.”

Nelson also holds the unofficial title as the only person who can out-smoke Snoop Dogg.

The ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ rapper openly admitted that Nelson, who is also one of the most famous pot smokers in the world, trumped his own love for weed.

Known for his love of the Devil’s Lettuce, Snoop claimed couldn’t keep up with the pensioner when the pair had a smoking session together.

Nelson later corroborated the story in an interview with Daily Beast, though when asked about his proficiency with weed, he said: “Oh, I don’t know. There’s probably people that can out-smoke me! I don’t do a lot of smoking anymore.

“I’ve switched over to a vaporizer because it’s better on my lungs.”

The country music veteran’s latest album, Last Leaf on the Tree, was released on Friday (November 1).

It was produced by Nelson’s youngest son, Micah, and features renditions of songs originally by Neil Young, Beck, the Flaming Lips and Nina Simone, along with tracks Nelson wrote.

In a statement to Rolling Stone, Micah commented on the album’s theme “There are little side-quests, but that became the through-line – facing death with grace.”

It sounds like Willie Nelson has got it covered.
