Miley Cyrus has admitted she lied for 10 years to her former husband Liam Hemsworth about when she lost her virginity.
Cyrus, now 31, was just a teenager when she first met Hemsworth as they starred together in the 2010 movie The Last Song.
Their characters struck up a romance in the movie, but it made its way into real life and the two stars officially began dating.
Naturally things got more intimate between Hemsworth and Cyrus as they grew closer, but Cyrus has admitted now that she wasn’t initially totally honest with Hemsworth when it came to the subject of her virginity.
Cyrus made the admission when she sat down to chat with Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, where she spoke about her love life and explained that she was actually ‘attracted to girls way before [she] was ever attracted to guys’.
Cyrus continued: “I was like 11 or 12, my friends were starting to tell me what they were doing with guys and I didn’t really understand it ― so I got most of my girlfriends to hook up with me.”

“The first time I ever hooked up with anyone was with a girl — two of them,” Cyrus revealed.
However, while her first hookups went ‘past first base’, she revealed she ‘didn’t go all the way with a dude’ until she was 16 years old.
“But I ended up marrying the guy, so that’s pretty crazy,” she continued.
While Cyrus was honest in her interview that Hemsworth was the first guy she’d ever slept with, she actually didn’t make the same admission at the time.
Concerned Hemsworth would consider her a ‘loser’, Cyrus told him she’d already lost her virginity to someone else.
“I couldn’t think of anyone so I just made somebody up that I knew but we’d never actually had sex before,” she said.

She ‘held on’ to the lie for nearly 10 years, but was forced to own up when one of Hemsworth’s friends ended up marrying the man she claimed to have lost her virginity to.
“So then [Hemsworth] was like, ‘Now my friend is marrying someone you’ve hooked up with’,” Cyrus recalled. “So then ― when I was like 24 ― I had to say that I lied when I was 16.”
The ‘Flowers’ singer didn’t reveal how Hemsworth had taken the news, but a few years on, she is obviously happy to own her truth.
Cyrus and Hemsworth went on to get married in 2018, but ultimately split less than a year later as a representative said they wanted to ‘focus on themselves and careers’.
