Moment aeroplane employee falls out of plane onto the runway

He disembarked the plane somewhat quicker than he was expecting to

A man ended up disembarking a plane somewhat quicker than he was planning after his colleagues rolled away the stairs just as he was stepping off.

Footage of the blunder, which occurred at Jakarta Airport in Indonesia, quickly went viral and was seen by millions of people all over the world.

The poor man was turning around a TransNusa Airbus A320 along with his colleagues when they started rolling away the movable stairs while he was still on board and about to step off.

As he was facing away from the exit he didn’t see this happen, and when he put his foot on what he thought was a solid step it instead met only air.

The unfortunate airport worker then plummeted from the plane and onto the runway tarmac, with his colleagues quickly recognising the problem and rushing over to help.

Papers the man had been holding scattered everywhere, while he also suffered broken bones and had to be taken to hospital following his impact with the tarmac.

Given the thud with which he hit the ground he’s fortunate not to have been more injured, as he fell from a height several times his own onto a pretty hard surface.

Ground staff allegedly broke basic rules as they removed the moveable stairs while the plane door was still open, essentially making it an open doorway to a sheer drop.

Fortunately the man who fell and broke his bones did not sustain life-threatening injuries.

Authorities are reportedly investigating the incident.

LADbible has contacted TransNusa for comment.

It turns out that airports can be very dangerous places and there’s a reason why the health and safety people are really strict about their rules.

One woman ended up having to get her leg amputated on a trip to Bangkok Airport after it got stuck in a moving walkway.

She was getting ready to board a plane when she tripped over her suitcase and get her leg stuck in the walkway, being dragged into the conveyor belt.

Medical professionals rushing onto the scene made the decision to amputate the woman’s leg above the knee, with the airport offering an apology and offering to provide medical expenses and compensation.

Meanwhile, though they say that flying is statistically speaking the safest way to travel there are disasters, near misses and scary moments involved with planes.

If something goes wrong even for a moment that can spell disaster for those involved, so be glad that this guy appears to have got away with some broken bones and nothing worse.
