New parents face a lot of difficulties. They have to worry about raising a new baby and doing so in the best way they possibly can. They also have a lot of opinions that come their way from others.
One of the interesting things that parents also have to go through is potty training. This is something that most parents consider when the child is a couple of years old, and that is when most experts agree that parents can begin teaching their babies to be potty trained.
On occasion, however, we hear about somebody who breaks the rules, and that is what the couple we are speaking about today did. Rather than waiting till their baby was two years old, Montana Lower and Tom Lindwood from Byron Bay, Australia decided to do it right away.
That couple operated the YouTube channel ‘On The Way’ and they would often talk about their lives on the channel. Their little girl was only two weeks old when she gave up diapers forever, and they said that it was a method known as ‘elimination communication’ that allowed them to do it.
It may sound simple, but all the parents did was look for signs that the little girl needed to go to the bathroom. Because of that, she developed a learned behavior and began communicating it more freely. When the baby needed to go to the toilet, they would look for the signs and then take the baby to the toilet.
Since diapers were no longer needed, it was a much easier time for the parents and the baby. In addition, they were avoiding all of the potential problems associated with environmental damage due to throwaway diapers.
