Zendaya reveals how her parents reacted to intimate three-way scenes in new movie

Zendaya’s new movie Challengers hits cinemas this week

Zendaya has shared how her parents reacted to her raciest movie yet.

The former Disney star plays Tashi Donaldson in her highly anticipated movieChallengers.

Mike Faist and The Crown’s Josh O’Connor also star.

The film’s synopsis reads: “Tashi, a tennis player turned coach, has transformed her husband from a mediocre player into a world-famous grand slam champion.

“To jolt him out of his recent losing streak, she makes him play a challenger event – close to the lowest level of tournament on the pro tour. Tensions soon run high when he finds himself standing across the net from the once-promising, now burnt-out Patrick, his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend.”

While the movie is largely centered on tennis, it also delves into Tashi’s relationships with both Patrick (O’Connor) and Art (Faist) – and it’s safe to say there are some rather raunchy scenes, including a three-way kiss between the characters.

With the R-rated nature of the movie in mind, Zendaya, 27, has shared how her parents reacted to it.

“It was hilarious,” she said.

Noting Euphoria‘s R-rating, the 27-year-old went on: “They’ve all seen Euphoria, you know, so it’s not like our first rodeo or anything.”

She continued to tell Entertainment Tonight: “It was funny ’cause, you know, obviously I’ve seen the movie many times so I know what’s coming, and they were all sitting behind me, and I got to, like, watch them watch and slowly just be like, ‘Oh god.'”

Meanwhile, I’d personally never be able to look my parents in the eye ever again.

But it’s not just her parents who will see Challengers; her grandma plans on watching it too. The movie hits cinemas on Friday (April 26).

Zendaya said on Australian TV show, Sunrise: “My grandma, she loves tennis, so she was so excited that I’m doing this movie.

“She’s setting a whole thing with all of her friends to go [see it].”

Addressing the steamy scenes, the Spider-Man favorite went on: “She’s seen Euphoria, so it’ll be fine.”

Elsewhere in the chat on Sunrise, things ended up turning pretty awkward after the cast were asked who the best kisser was.

Journalist Edwina Bartholomew said: “Out of all of you, not giving the plot point away, who is the best kisser?”

Zendaya actually made a ‘huh?’ sound to the question as she looks back confusingly at the interviewer, before Faist quickly stepped in and tried to make light of the situation.

“Josh,” he said.

“Thank you,” the Les Miserables star replied, while noting that Zendaya stayed quiet.

Laughing awkwardly, she chimed in: “Imma’ let y’all take that [question].”

Yikes.
