People are flooding to social media to weigh in after Arnold Schwarzenegger voiced his opinion that he doesn’t believe we won’t meet up in heaven once dead.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito’s Batman segment at the 96th Academy Awards may’ve received widespread praise online, however, their discussion about heaven has seen a much more divided response.
The pair sat down for an in-depth conversation with Interview Magazine to discuss everything but movies.
And what should crop up? Why, the question of what the future is for us humans, what happens after death and whether we really all go to heaven – well, or hell, depending on what you get up to in your spare time.
DeVito asked Schwarzenegger: “What’s in the future for us? What do you think, in terms of our species? Are we going to last? Tell me, oh great leader.”
And the question reminded the Terminator star of a conversation he had with broadcaster Howard Stern, who asked him: “What happens to use when we die?”

Schwarzenegger replied to Stern at the time: “Nothing. You’re six feet under. Anyone that tells you something else is a f**king liar.”
Despite DeVito notingThe Expendables actor doesn’t actually know that for sure, Schwarzenegger continued: “We don’t know what happens with the soul and all this spiritual stuff that I’m not an expert in, but I know that the body as we see each other now, we will never see each other again like that.
“[…] Except in some fantasy. When people talk about, ‘I will see them again in heaven,’ it sounds so good, but the reality is that we won’t see each other again after we’re gone.
“That’s the sad part. I know people feel comfortable with death, but I don’t.”
And it’s fair to say Schwarzenegger’s views on what happens after death has left people divided.

One Facebook user wrote: “Fantasy? I believe this is only in his mind not for everyone who believes in Our Lord Jesus Christ…hope the Holy Spirit of God touches his inner being and surrender himself to God in the right time.”
“The assumption that our spirit didn’t exist before our time on earth is based on the fact we don’t remember a time before we were on Earth. However I also don’t remember being a one year old and I’m pretty sure that happened. So a lack of memory is not evidence of a lack of existence.
“So all we do know is that no one knows where we came from or where we are heading but I’m not ruling anything out,” another added.
However, third commented: “He’s correct.” And a fourth resolved: “I agree. I will never talk down on someone’s beliefs but. He’s right once your dead your dead. The fact is faith and belief help people cope with there lives.”
So, what do you think?
