Taylor Swift sells one of her private planes amid flight-tracking backlash

Taylor Swift has sold one of her private jets after controversy over her flights being tracked and the amount of CO2 emissions from her journeys.

Swift came under fire at the end of last year over her CO2 emissions from making flights to go and visit new boyfriend Kansas City Chief’s star Travis Kelce.

And it would seem the 34-year-old pop star’s now decided to downgrade from two private jets to one, leaving a rather Black Space in her hangar.

As of 18 December, 2023, Instagram account ‘Taylor’s Swifts Jets’ revealed the singer-songwriter’s flights had produced 138 tons of CO2 emissions to date

It added Swift had taken a whopping 12 journeys to see her new boyfriend which meant she’d used 12,622 gallons of jet fuel, which is calculated to be worth a whopping $70,779.

A spokesperson for Swift told UNILAD at the time: “Before the tour kicked off in March of 2023, Taylor purchased more than double the carbon credits needed to offset all tour travel.

“The excess credits means Taylor could have accounted for more than enough to cover her latest romance springing up in the middle of her sell-out tour, with her trips to support Kelce upping her carbon emissions alongside her planned tour travels.”

Whether it’s because of the online condemnation – or because of aviation fan and student Jack Sweeney tracking her flights and her legal team hitting the 21-year-old with a cease and desist letter back in December – Swift has since downgraded to only one jet. Ah, how the other one percent live.

Swift’s Dassault Falcon 900 could previously be found listed on the Federal Aviation Authority’s website under the same address as Taylor Swift Productions in Nashville, Tennessee Secretary of State documents stated according to Business Insider.

It adds FAA data revealed the jet had belonged to Swift’s production team since 2009.

However, the aircraft is now registered to a company based in Missouri – which would imply Swift has decided to part ways with the jet – listed as changing companies on January 30.

Now, the pop star just has one private jet – the Dassault 7X. Oh, and potentially an additional $44 million in the bank – or maybe slightly less, with a brand new Dassault 900 going for the fee, Business Jet Traveler states.

UNILAD has contacted Taylor Swift’s representatives for comment.
