Snoop Dogg labeled a ‘true hero’ for ‘generous’ response to LA wildfires

The rapper has jumped in to help

Snoop Dogg has been dubbed a ‘true hero’ for his ‘generous’ donation to those affected by the LA wildfires.

It’s been more than five days since 180,000 people fled Los Angeles as the county was set alight by several rapid-moving wildfires that continue to rampage through and leave behind a trail of mass destruction.

Tens of thousands of acres have been burnt across the Pacific Palisades, Eaton, Kenneth, Hurst, Lidia, and the Archer neighborhoods as well as thousands of businesses and homes.

At the time of writing, at least 16 people have died, and 13 are considered missing.

Officials are warning only two of the wildfires have been contained by firefighters, and the largest of the blaze in Palisades is threatening to expand eastwards towards Brentwood.

High speed winds and dry conditions resulted in the ‘perfect storm’ for the fire to spread, and officials warn the threat is far from over, extending for at least a few days into weeks before the inferno is completely contained.

Home to countless Hollywood stars, many celebrities have been doing their bit for the tragedy, including Paris Hilton who pledged $100,000 to an emergency fund, even after losing her own Malibu home to the flames.

Now, California’s own Snoop Dogg is the latest to pitch in towards the cause.

The ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ rapper has announced his clothing store in Inglewood, California, will provide clothes to people impacted by the wildfires.

Snoopyclothing said in a post on Instagram: “We are devastated and send our condolences to those who have been affected by these fires.

“Please stop by and pick up some clothing that we have available to get you and your family through these trying times free of charge. ID/address requested.”

The brand said it has opened as a temporary donation center from Friday to Tuesday through 11am to 7pm and also signposted to other places that are distributing other essentials across the county.

The store on Prairie Avenue said in follow-up posts that its initiative has been successful in helping people.

The shop added: “If you’ve lost everything in this tragedy and are in need of clothing, please feel free to drop by and take what you need—our free clothing donations are here to help those affected by this disaster. We’ll make sure everything goes to those who truly need it.”

Fans have since rushed to praise Snoop Dogg for his swift and thoughtful action.

“One thing about Unc! He goin make sure his city is taken care of”, wrote one fan while another penned: “Snoop Dogg always showing love for LA and beyond.”

“Snoops heart is showing”, chimed another.

A fourth wrote: “Thank you Uncle Snoop, you’re an American treasure!”, while hundreds of others thanked the star for his generosity.
