Trigger Warning: This article contains footage featuring a homophobic slur which some readers may find distressing.
Jason Kelce was caught on camera smashing a football fan’s phone after someone called his brother Travis a homophobic slur.
The retired Philadelphia Eagles star was outside of the Beaver Stadium in State College on Saturday November 2 when he was mobbed by a group of people recording him, with some going on to heckle him.
However, it took a turn for the worse when one person decided that it would be a good idea to not only call Jason’s brother Travis a nasty name, but an incredibly offensive slur.
The reason?

Because Travis is famously dating Taylor Swift.
In the viral clip, which was shared to X, formerly Twitter, you can see fans surround Jason as he quickly tries to walk ahead.
However, while one man was trying to grab his attention and get a fist bump out of him, one instead called his brother Travis a homophobic slur.
The man said: “Hey, Kelce. How does it feel your brother’s a f***** dating Taylor Swift?”
That’s when Jason rounded on the fans, snatched one of their phones from their hand and smashed it onto the ground, leaving them in a state of shock.
It’s not clear if the fan whose phone was smashed is the same man who said the slur.
The below footage contains offensive language:
Travis and Taylor have been dating since last year, with the families becoming close and attending Travis’ games together.
People online were quick to take Jason’s side, with one person writing: “Jason Kelce proceeded to slam this kid’s phone on the ground.
“Looked like a Penn State student was getting in Kelce’s face for no reason. Wild scene in State College.”
Another person penned: “Play stupid games win stupid prizes.”
Someone else commented: “Jason Kelce smashes the phone of some homophobic loser to bits after he decided to talk s**t on his brother and Taylor Swift right in front of him.
“What an icon.”

Other footage released showed different angles where you can clearly see the expression on both Jason’s and the fan’s face.
Jason looked, as you’d imagine, upset and angry.
The man whose phone was now rubble looked stunned and taken aback by Jason’s retaliation.
Additional footage circulating on X showed a closer-up angle of Jason smashing the phone on asphalt.
The phone owner, who was wearing a Penn State hoodie at the time of the incident, could be seen in multiple clips walking closely behind and seemingly recording Jason before the altercation took place.
Lawsuit gonna be worth every penny
Another scene shared on X showed the moment after Jason smashed the man’s phone as the Penn State fan walking through a crowd to pick up his phone from off the ground.
“Give me my phone, bro,” he apparently said to Jason.
