No School Will Accept Her Son Because Of His Hair

Ask any parent and they will tell you, raising a child is never going to be a perfect scenario. There are always going to be problems that can make it difficult for you to get by, and nobody knows this better than the mother of the young boy we have in this story

Farouk James is only 11 years old but he is struggling in school in a way that many people will never understand. After all, he isn’t able to find a school that will accept him as part of the student body.

We understand that every school has rules and regulations and they must be enforced but there should also be at least a little room for individuality. The young boy has made the decision to allow his hair to grow, and it has his mother’s consent.

He also has quite a following on Instagram, with more than 250,000 people watching his new pictures that are posted by his mother, Bonnie. It seems as if life is good for them, but his long hair has made it difficult for her to find the school where he can attend.

Bonnie argued the fact that her son should be allowed to have long hair and she feels it is a matter of discrimination that he is not allowed to be part of the student body. Her son may have unusually long hair, but it is all natural and is not dyed.

Farouk has had long hair since before he was born, as it could even be seen on the scans while Bonnie was pregnant. He loves his hair and he can’t stand the thought of having to cut it.

Bonnie had had a problem with her elder son because of his hair being called too short. That boy is now 23 years old, and she was hoping that school may have changed their mind in the meantime.

In actuality, the rules that govern the appearance of children in school have not changed in many cases. In other words, if her son wanted to go to school, he would have to cut his hair and she disagreed.

She tried to get things going online with a viral campaign to make changes and they continue to work on making those changes a reality in schools everywhere.

She said that they are going to fight it until the rules get changed and it isn’t just an issue in the UK, they are trying to make global changes.

We understand that long hair is a choice that many make, including children, but do you feel that should make a difference in their ability to get into the school?
