Arizona Iced Tea founder gave the perfect response when asked why it’s so cheap

People loved Don Vultaggio’s response so much they have vowed to start picking up Arizona Iced Tea

Arizona Iced Tea founder Don Vultaggio seems to have won some new customers with his simple and straightforward answer to why his drink is still so cheap.

Who knew not trying to fleece customers out of absolutely every penny they have would endear them towards you?

It seems the Arizona Iced Tea founder Don Vultaggio has the right idea about keeping customers happy and winning new ones.

While speaking with TODAY back in 2022, he explained why his company has kept the price of their drink 99 cents. Take a look:

Vultaggio co-founded Arizona Beverages USA over 30 years ago in May 1992 and back then a can of Arizona iced tea was 99 cents.

So, despite the rises in inflation, competitors raising prices and the expectation of growth, the price has remained the same, making it a popular drink choice that wont break the bank.

Explaining how they’ve managed to remain profitable, Vultaggio said: “People say, ‘How do you do that?’ We make it faster. We ship it better. We ship it closer. The cans are thinner,”

When he was asked by TODAY’s Savannah Sellers about why they don’t raise the prices to increase the profit, he simply shrugged and replied: “We’re successful”.

He continued: “We’re debt-free. We own everything. Why? Why have people who are having a hard time paying their rent have to pay more for our drink?

“Maybe it’s my little way to give back.”

And the good news doesn’t stop there. When asked would he ever raise the price, he did admit he wouldn’t say he would never do it but added ‘not in the foreseeable future. We’re gonna fight as hard as we can for consumers’.

Now that’s refreshing to hear.

And people on social media seemed to agree, with many commenting on TikTok about how these comments had won them the brand customers.

“I never drink Arizona iced tea… I’m about to start buying just because I love this CEO!,” one user wrote.

“Ohhh we should all switch over to Arizona tea to show the other companies we support companies like this,”added another.

“I only get Arizona tea when I’m looking for a cheap drink. However, I think I’ll be getting it more often now,” a third wrote.

“He’s successful and not greedy. I wish more companies thought like this,’ another commented.

Got to agree, think I’d be more willing to spend my money if I knew companies wouldn’t endlessly raise prices.
